Project Goal: The goal of this project is to develop
a watershed plan for the lower Gunnison Basin and Grand Valley. The plan
will be consistent with the EPA's Nine Elements of a Watershed Plan and the
State of Colorado's Watershed Cookbook. The watershed plan will serve as a
"living document" that can be utilized by other organizations for their
watershed planning purposes. All water-quality issues within the basin
will be identified with the focus. Due to limited resources, the focus of
the watershed remediation planning will be on selenium at this point. This
project was funded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
through a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency.
